Martin St. Louis punishes Jonathan Drouin in the most public way possible after missing team meeting
Yesterday Jonathan Drouin missed a team mandated meeting after the Canadiens lost 9-5 to the Florida Panthers the night before. That was enough for the Canadiens' Head Coach, Martin St. Louis. The veteran NHLer decided it was time to send a message to Drouin and his entire team.
Rumor has it the St. Louis initially decided to scratch Drouin. That was until an injury forced Kaiden Guhle out of the lineup. This meant the Canadiens had a spot in the lineup and the team would then need to dress Drouin.
Dressing Drouin was a decision, but that didn't mean St. Louis would play the forward. No, instead St. Louis plunked Drouin in the bench and made the decision to not give him a single shift.
Through 30 minutes Drouin hasn't moved from his spot on the bench and likely won't. Hopefully this message is received by Drouin, if not the message will only get louder.
Another way showing he's all business, St. Louis refused a photo with a fan who wanted to snap a picture with the former Lightning alumni.
