Jonathan Marchessault Eliminates 15 Teams from No-Trade List as Market Heats Up

The Nashville Predators were a major letdown in 2024/25, and as a result, former Vegas Golden Knights star Jonathan Marchessault seemingly wants out this off-season, as the chatter around a potential trade has picked up significantly in the last few days.

However, a deal is going to be much easier said than done, as Marchessault reportedly has a 15 team no-trade list, ruling out at least half of the NHL as he looks to potentially move on to what could be his last team in his NHL career.

At 34-years of age, Marchessault had another solid season for the Predators, tallying 21 goals and 56 points in 78 games played, and after winning the Conn Smythe for the Vegas Golden Knights in 2023, it's clear that any playoff contending team should be after Marchessault.

As for his no-trade list, it's unclear who's on that, but like many, it's highly likely that he's got several Canadian teams on there, but the Quebec native may indeed be open to returning home and playing with the Montreal Canadiens.

Ultimately, with the position that the Predators are in right now, it makes sense that Marchessault would look to jump ship, as they appear to be a team with no young talent and veterans that seemingly can't work together, so while trade chatter has picked up significantly in the last few days, it's unclear at this point just how likely a trade is this off-season.
