NHL Star places mansion on the market for $7.9M
Stanley Cup champion Ryan O'Reilly has placed his Lake Huron mansion on the market. If you going to purchase the NHL star's property your going to need to back up the Brinks truck. The 13-acre Goderich-area estate property has been placed on the market for a whopping $7.9M. This price is one that broker Greg Dodds says is unique to the region.
«I think the highest price listing we've seen is almost half of this on the lake, so there's just nothing to compare it to around here,» said Doods of Coldwell Dawnflight Reality, which is handling the sale. «The estate, it just takes your breath away from the moment you see the place, it's just so big.»
According to the listing, the three-story, six-bedroom and six-bathroom lakeside mansion features «meticulous craftsmanship and attention to detail» that «converge to create an unparalleled retreat,» including an entertainment room, a rooftop patio overlooking the water and private beach access among other luxuries.
To go along with the cost of living, buyers will also need to take into account the estate's property tax, which will cost the potential buyer a mammoth $36,000 annually.
The 33 year old O'Reilly was drafted in 2009, 33rd overall by the Colorado Avalanche. Breaking into the league the same year he was drafted, O'Reilly put up 8 goals and 26 points in 81 games during his rookie campaign. After six seasons in Colorado, O'Reilly was traded to the Buffalo Sabres where he would endure three losing seasons. He would be traded to the St. Louis Blues in the summer of 2018. That season, O'Reilly would capture the Stanley Cup and win the Conn Smythe Trophy.
According to the website Capfriendly.com, O'Reilly, has earned US$76.7 million in his NHL career. He has two years remaining on a four-year contract he signed with the Nashville Predators, which pays an AAV of $4.5M.
