K'Andre Miller is likely to be on the move this off-season, and now Elliotte Friedman has revealed why the Rangers are intent on moving the talented blue liner.
One name that appears certain to be moved is New York Rangers defenseman K'Andre Miller, who, like his team had a down year in 2024/25, tallying just 7 goals and 27 points in 74 games played.
Over the past few weeks, there's been plenty of chatter around the 25-year old, and now, Elliotte Friedman has revealed the reason why GM Chris Drury and the Rangers front office want to move on from the talented defenseman.
According to Friedman, the reason why the Rangers are insistent on trading him is due to the fact that they don't want to give him a long-term extension, and after freeing up money from the
Chris Kreider trade, moving Miller would give them plenty of cap space to go out and make multiple moves this summer.
At 25-years of age, Miller has been solid for the Rangers since arriving in 2020/21, posting 36 goals and 132 points in 368 games played with a +49 differential in that time, but now, patience has run out with the former first-round pick.
There are potentially plenty of suitors for a talented defenseman on the market this off-season, and with a lack of big names in free agency, expect Miller to draw significant interest this summer, even if the price the Rangers get likely won't blow their fans away.
