In speaking to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, the Rangers have "several" potential trade calls on Jacob Trouba, though his partial no-trade clause is proving difficult. There's been speculation about his future with the Rangers since the summer.
On Nov. 25, after a 6-2 loss to the Oilers, Friedman tweeted that GM Chris Drury had looked at other lineup combinations as a way to shake things up.
Both Trouba and veteran forward Chris Kreider, the longest-serving member of the team, emerged as candidates to be moved.
The 30-year-old defenseman is in the sixth season of a seven-year, $56-million contract with a modified no-trade clause, meaning he can block trades to 15 teams, per PuckPedia.
He's tallied six assists and a minus-three rating through 24 games this season.
