JT Miller made a late hit on Quinn Hughes today as the Canucks visit the Rangers in New York.
At this point in the season, every game is critical for both the New York Rangers and the Vancouver Canucks.
Both teams are fighting for their playoff hopes with the Rangers currently two points out while Vancouver is one point behind the Minnesota Wild in the West.
As such, both teams should be putting in their best efforts today as they face off at Madison Square Garden.
At least one Rangers player has shown that he's fired up for the contest, and that would be none other than JT Miller.
Clearly, there is still some animosity between Miller and his former teammates and it was on full display today.
After a whistle early in the second period, Miller laid a hit on Canucks captain Quinn Hughes along the end boards.
It wasn't particularly violent, but it was still late. Not enough for the officials to call a penalty, but enough for him to get the message across.
Perhaps the Canucks captain got inside Miller's head simply by playing the game as he remains in his prime form.
Hughes got on the board earlier in the game with an assist on the game's first goal to give the Canucks a 1-0 lead.
Miller would respond with a helper of his own on a go-ahead goal for the Rangers early in the 3rd period.
The remainder of the game is bound to be filled with more drama given the importance of it and the recent history between the teams, so be sure to tune in to see how it ends.
