Mika Zibanejad appears to be on the move after the Rangers moved Chris Kreider, and now, the Toronto Maple Leafs are becoming a potential suitor.

The New York Rangers have already moved one of their most beloved players this off-season in Chris Kreider, and many speculated that could lead to many more blockbuster moves this summer.
Unsurprisingly, that ignited the rumour mill around Mika Zibanejad, and over the weekend, reports emerged that the veteran centre and his camp potentially agreed that it may be best to move on from the current situation.
This has led to plenty of speculation about his next team, and now, according to Arthur Staple, the Toronto Maple Leafs are becoming a potential suitor for the veteran forward.
This would obviously only make sense for Toronto if John Tavares somehow decided to go another way in free agency and doesn't return to the team, but if that's the case, this could be the type of change that Toronto need.
Even in a down year last season, the 32-year old tallied 20 goals and 62 points in 82 games played, and after posting 26 goals and 72 points the year before, he could still be a very effective player at the NHL level.
Sure, Zibanejad still has five years left on his current deal with a salary cap hit of $8.5 million per year, but if Toronto free up space by losing both Mitch Marner and Tavares, they'll have more than enough room to accommodate him.
Given the struggles Zibanejad experienced last year and the return we saw in the Chris Kreider deal, it wouldn't be that expensive of a deal for Toronto to make, and with plenty of star power remaining on this roster, perhaps No. 93 could once again flourish.
