The Ottawa Senators are going to be one of the teams to watch leading up to the NHL's trade deadline, which is just over one month away and there are a number of players on their roster that could be on the move.
Giroux, if he's made available, could be a big piece for a contending team looking to add a veteran with experience and who can play anywhere in the lineup, along with being on the powerplay.
Giroux, 36, spent the first 15 seasons of his career in the National Hockey League with the Philadelphia Flyers, including several years as the team's captain. In 2021-22, the Flyers moved on from Giroux, who was a pending unrestricted free agent, after trading him to the Florida Panthers.
So far this season, the Hearst, Ontario native has 42 points (15 goals, 27 assists), 20 penalty minutes and has an even-rating in 47 games.
