The Four Nations Face Off has come and gone, and it was great for the NHL, but Keith Tkachuk believes they got the MVP of the tournament wrong.
The NHL hit a massive home run with the Four Nations Face Off, and with the combination of the landscape around the tournament, hockey saw a major increase in popularity for two weeks.
The tournament came down to the United States and Canada in the finale, and after a dramatic 3-2 overtime victory, it was Team Canada that claimed a gold medal on the back of a Connor McDavid winner.
After the tournament, Colorado's Nathan MacKinnon was named tournament MVP after incredible performances in every game, including a key goal in the finale that helped Canada to the major victory.
Now however, weeks after the tournament, Keith Tkachuk has taken a look back and made his case for why his son Brady of the second place United States should have won the award instead.
«He played every shift with intensity, and he was a force in every part of the game. Brady's leadership on and off the ice, his toughness, and his ability to elevate his game when his team needed him most-it was all on display.
Nathan MacKinnon is an incredible player, but to me, Brady showed more of the qualities that make a true MVP. His all-around game and his impact on every aspect of the tournament made him the most valuable player out there.»

It's unclear why this was brought up so late after the tournament, as many believe the winning team should have the MVP, and while Brady was fantastic in every single game, there's simply no denying that MacKinnon was the best player in the tournament.
