Senators Captain Wearing The Frustration As The Loses Pile Up
The Ottawa Senators were poised to finally snap their winless skid while facing the basement dwelling San Jose Sharks on Saturday night. It turned out to be a tight 2-1 game that Ottawa came out on the losing end of. This extends the Senators losing streak to seven games.
As the buzzer went to the end the game, Senators captain Brady Tkachuk let out his frustration by smashing his stick against the post of the Sharks goal.
Tkachuk, like many of his teammates has taken a step back this season compared to his 83 point career high 2022-23 campaign. In 61 games, Tkachuk has scored 27 goals and 52 points. The 24 year old, is signed until the end of the 2027-28 season with a cap hit of $$8,205,714.
The Senators were in the hunt for a playoff spot last season missing a Wild Card spot by only six points. This season it's a different story with Ottawa in a battle for the basement of the league with a record of 25-33-4.
The final 20 games can't come soon enough for the Senators and their fans.
