Despite likely being out of playoff contention, the Ottawa Senators are known to always remain a feisty team down the stretch of the season. On home ice tonight and still wanting to impress their fans with a win, the Senators and star forward Alex DeBrincat put on a show tonight.
DeBrincat, acquired from Chicago in the offseason for the seventh overall draft pick, is known for his sharp shot and scoring capabilities. After tonight, he'll also be known for his physical play. Early in the second period, DeBrincat took a check along the boards that turned him inside okt and cut his face, clearly incensing him to later take revenge.
DeBrincat wasted no time, and on his next shift went to settle his score with the Flyers. DeBrincat grabbed Flyers forward Joel Farabee, also a young promising player, and started throwing absolute bombs. For a player not known for his physicality, it's an extremely quality fight.
This fight sparked even more physicality from both teams. Minutes after this fight, more fights ensued leading to several ejections for roughing after the whistle. Although these two teams are out of playoff contention, it still clearly hasn't affected the competition level from the players.
