Last night the Edmonton Oilers faced off against the Los Angeles Kings and just a little over a minute into the game, a bad hit was delivered along the boards. Many felt that this hit would surely result in the player getting tossed from any hockey game, but that's not what happened.
Just 1:28 into the game Oilers superstar forward Connor McDavid hits Kings forward Mikey Anderson from behind, it what was a dangerous play, take a look:
McDavid was assessed a two-minute boarding penalty on the play, but you can't help but wonder, if it was any other player in the National Hockey League that would of been, at the very least 5 minute major and a game misconduct.
On the play Anderson was cut and injured, something that is usually the pre-cursor for an ejection, but the referees opted to keep the NHL's best player in the game. Anderson didn't take another shift in the game.
