According to Frank Seravalli of Daily Faceoff, the San Jose Sharks have claimed forward Barclay Goodrow off waivers from the New York Rangers.
Following last night's report from Mollie Walker of the New York Post, it's not a surprise to see that the Sharks are bringing back to where his NHL career began.
Last night, Walker reported that the New York Rangers and San Jose Sharks had an agreement in place that would see the Northern California team claim Goodrow off of the waiver wire today.
Goodrow, 31, spent parts of the first six seasons of his NHL career with the San Jose Sharks before moving on to the Tampa Bay Lightning, where he won two Stanley Cups, and then the New York Rangers.
This past season was pretty rough for Goodrow in terms of his production. In 80 games, he had 12 points (four goals, eight assists), played 78 penalty minutes, and was a minus-13. Goodrow also recorded eight points (six goals, two assists) in 16 games during the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Toronto native has three years remaining on his contract with a cap hit of $3.641 million and a modified no-trade clause.
