After a devastating night in Florida with Hurricane Helene making landfall as a category 4 storm, the Tampa Bay Lightning have decided for safety reasons to postpone tonight's preseason game.
In press release on their official website, the team shared that tonight's preseason game against the Nashville Predators has been moved to Monday, October 7th as the Tampa Bay area recovers from Hurricane Helene.
Hurricane Helene made landfall in Florida last night around 11 pm ET, with sustained winds of 225 kph (140 mph). In the early morning hours on Friday, it was downgraded to a Tropical Storm, leaving a path of damage behind. Unfortunately, according to The Guardian ten people have lost their lives to to Hurricane Helene and more than 4 million are without power in the south-eastern United States.
The Tampa Bay Lightning and Nashville Predators will be back in action tomorrow as they face each other in Music City at 8 pm ET.
