Anthony Stolarz's Game 4 Fate Confirmed as Maple Leafs Announce Starting Goalie

The Toronto Maple Leafs had a fantastic first round on the back of some solid goaltending, but in Game 1 against these Florida Panthers, Anthony Stolarz suffered a potential concussion that has kept him out of action since.

That led to plenty of criticism of Sam Bennett, who hit Stolarz in the head after he took a puck to the mask, and now, he remains out as the series shifted down south to Florida.

Now, it has officially been confirmed that he will also miss Game 4, as veteran and two-time Stanley Cup winner Matt Murray will backup Joseph Woll for what may be the pivotal game in this series against the defending Stanley Cup Champions.

While this is a brutal loss for the Maple Leafs, having a new backup like Murray who is so experienced on the big stage is fantastic for the team, although Woll has been solid in the two games he's played in this series so far.

In his latest update, Craig Berube didn't share much about Stolarz' status moving forward, although he noted that he was doing well, but how close to a return he could be is at this point uncertain.

Ultimately though, if the Maple Leafs want to be genuine Stanley Cup contenders in 2025, they'll need Stolarz back in net, so the hope is that once this series shifts back to Toronto for Game 5, Stolarz will be able to get back to good health and get back on the ice for this talented team.
