Anthony Stolarz Makes Mitch Marner Look Silly With His Comments About Toronto
Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Anthony Stolarz recently made some comments about Toronto that make Mitch Marner look like a player who can't handle pressure.
During his time with the Toronto Maple Leafs, it was clear that Mitch Marner couldn't handle the pressure, especially during the postseason.
Overall, there were numerous moments in which Marner continuously dropped the ball, and it felt like the pressure of playing in his hometown was becoming too much to bear.
However, there are other players who have come to Toronto who completely embrace the pressure and don't feel burdened by it.
One such player is none other than goaltender Anthony Stolarz, who is coming off a tremendous regular season with the Maple Leafs.
Anthony Stolarz loves the Toronto Maple Leafs
During an interview with Toronto Sports Rush, Stolarz admitted that he had heard some things about the Leafs before joining.
Regardless, he is an easygoing guy, and he just wanted to be around a passionate fanbase.
It was pretty fun. Obviously, you get there, and you kind of hear some stories about the media and the fans, but I thought it was a good year. It wasn't too much for me, I'm a pretty easygoing guy, so I think that helps. The biggest thing for me being in Toronto was just walking around and seeing how passionate the fans are. They live and breathe Toronto Maple Leafs hockey, so it's extra motivation for you as a player to go out there and deliver what they're all craving.
Overall, the Toronto Maple Leafs are a much better team with Mitch Marner on it, but he couldn't handle the pressure, and Stolarz's comments prove that.
At the end of the day, the Leafs should only want players who are actually interested in playing for a passionate city.
Marner wasn't that player, and now, the Maple Leafs need to act accordingly.
