Brad Marchand's comments about the Maple Leafs will make fans do a double-take

Florida Panthers forward Brad Marchand is no fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs, but when it comes to his rival, he keeps a rational head about things.
The Toronto Maple Leafs are not playing good hockey right now, and barring a few games this season, the Leafs have just been mediocre.
They are near the bottom of the Atlantic Division standings, and it will take a winning streak to get themselves back into a playoff spot.
One of the teams that they will have to compete against is the Florida Panthers, who have largely struggled without Aleksander Barkov this season.
When the Leafs and Panthers play each other on Tuesday night, both will have to bring some urgency to the table. For the Leafs, it is also a chance at revenge following Game 7 of last year's playoffs.

Meanwhile, Panthers star Brad Marchand is fielding questions about the Leafs, their struggles, and whether or not he thinks they can make the playoffs.
Marchand can't help but scoff at these questions. As he told the media, the Maple Leafs should be a lock to make the postseason given their roster construction and competitive level.
If people are thinking they're out of a playoff spot for the season they got to find a new job ...with the media attention & the fan support they have things get blown way out of proportion ... They're still a good contending team
Marchand even said that the Toronto media needs to relax with the talk about missing the playoffs. In his mind, the Leafs are obviously going to make it to the postseason.
For a lot of Maple Leafs fans, Marchand's comments are going to come across as both dismissive and downright incorrect.
The Leafs are not as good as Marchand thinks, and perhaps he knows this already. In fact, this could be great psychological warfare that we're not picking up on.
