Brad Marchand Makes His Free Agency Decision Official

Brad Marchand was one of the best players in the postseason this year, and as a result, numerous teams were hoping to sign him in free agency.

The Toronto Maple Leafs were one of the teams that felt like they had a real shot at acquiring the forward. However, the Florida Panthers had something to say about that.

Just moments ago, according to Elliotte Friedman, the forward signed a six-year deal with the Panthers worth $32 million. Now, the gang is officially back together.

There were reports that Brad Marchand wanted a deal that was worth $8 million per season over the course of four years. Of course, that totals $32 million.

However, this amount simply would not have worked with the Panthers' cap space, and as a result, they asked him to sign on for more years.

Interestingly enough, this contract means Brad Marchand would retire at the age of 43. Whether or not he would make it to the end of his contract remains to be seen.

If one thing is for certain here, it is that the Florida Panthers are going to be amazing next year, and the rest of the league should absolutely be worried about a three-peat.

Sam Bennett, Aaron Ekblad, and Brad Marchand are all signed to new deals, and now, free agency is going to be a whole lot less interesting.
