Brad Treliving is back in the mix, and Craig Berube's former GM did not stay out of sight for long.

Just 14 days after Toronto moved on from him on March 30, Treliving surfaced Monday in another major hockey job.
The new post is not some background assignment.
He is set to lead Team Canada's management group for the upcoming IIHF World Championship.
That changes the tone around his exit from the Maple Leafs right away.
Teams do not hand over a file like this to someone they are unsure about.
Toronto's split with Treliving came before he even reached 3 full seasons running the club, which made the timing stand out across the league.
Now he steps back into a seat with real sway, real visibility, and a fresh chance to shape a roster under pressure.

Treliving gets a fast reset after Leafs exit with Team Canada

That is the part that matters most here.
This is not about optics alone.
It is about Treliving getting another important hockey chair almost immediately.
The announcement also placed Jason Spezza alongside him, with Scott Salmond and Kyle Dubas in the structure.
That gives the whole setup a Toronto angle that is hard to miss.
Spezza's name adds another layer because he keeps showing up around bigger front-office conversations.
This assignment only adds to that chatter.
Dubas being tied to the same group makes it even more interesting.
Two former Maple Leafs power brokers are now connected again in a high-profile Hockey Canada job.
For Treliving, this is a clean public reminder that his standing around the game did not collapse with the Toronto firing.
He is still viewed as someone who can build, sort roles, and handle heat.
That does not erase what happened with the Maple Leafs. But it does tell the rest of the NHL that Brad Treliving's next chapter is already moving.
