Nicolas Roy is an intriguing player who will be a member of the Toronto Maple Leafs this season, and fans could not be happier.
He was part of the blockbuster Mitch Marner trade, which ended up taking the hockey world by storm. No one expected the Leafs to get a return, but they did, and now, an opportunity is upon them.
Overall, the Maple Leafs are hoping that Roy will be a stud, and who better to predict such a thing than his former coach, Bruce Cassidy?

Recently, Cassidy was on Leafs Morning Take where he revealed why Roy was playing on the fourth line for most of the season.
On our team, he was predominantly a 4th line centre because we always had guys ahead of him, but I know that he's capable of more.
However, Cassidy also noted that the Leafs are getting a guy who can play on the power play, but also get some solid minutes on the penalty kill.
Real big part of our penalty kill, good in the circle, played in our second unit power play down around the net.
This is the kind of thing that Maple Leafs fans want to hear right now. You need a Swiss Army knife, and Roy is just that.
Ultimately, this is going to be an interesting season for the Leafs, who were desperate to upgrade their bottom-six depth.
Roy is a solid addition, and we're sure head coach Craig Berube is more than happy to have him around.
