Calgary Flames Make Final Decision on Nazem Kadri Amid Toronto Maple Leafs Rumors

It is no secret that the Toronto Maple Leafs have been interested in Calgary Flames center Nazem Kadri, although the trade rumors themselves have been controversial.
Nazem Kadri is a player whom Leafs fans have been wanting back on the team for years. Ever since he was traded, the fanbase has been in agony.
Last season, the forward was extremely productive, scoring 35 goals and adding another 32 assists. However, there have been numerous trade rumors involving the veteran, and Leafs reporters have been all over it.
The last month has been dedicated to the idea that the Leafs and Kadri might reunite. It would be a lovely thing to have happen, but it's always felt extremely unlikely.
Calgary Flames make final decision on Nazem Kadri
Thanks to Frank Seravalli of Bleacher Report, the Kadri rumors can officially be put to bed. Unfortunately, not in a way that will make Leafs fans happy.
Essentially, the Flames do not want to trade Kadri, and the player himself is not looking to be dealt. Everyone is happy, and that probably won't change anytime soon.
They're not interested in moving him, sources indicate the Flames really haven't engaged in any of those conversations, it would take a heck of an offer
Kadri still has a few years left on his deal, and while he could change his mind about Calgary next summer, there is no point believing that something is going to happen imminently.
Doing so would be setting yourself up for failure in the worst way possible. The Leafs just need to keep doing their thing and leaving it at that.
Next summer, there will be some interesting free agents on the market, and that will prove to be the right time for the Leafs to pounce.
But as it pertains to Kadri, they shouldn't waste any more energy on potentially bringing him in.
