Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube is supposedly on the hot seat right now, and according to Sid Seixeiro, there is only one man who can fix this.
This has put the Maple Leafs in an interesting spot, especially as they sit in last place in the Eastern Conference, with few hopes of digging themselves out of that hole.
Berube's job is still considered to be on the line, and according to Sid Seixeiro, there is only one man who can stand behind the Leafs bench and actually change things.
John Tortorella could replace Craig Berube
As he explains so eloquently, that man is none other than John Tortorella, who was fired by the Philadelphia Flyers at the end of last season.
The Leafs may fire Craig Berube. I don't like itbut it could happen.
If Toronto's management pull the trigger someone upstairs thinks the season is salvageable and they want to send a shockwave through the room. There's only one person who can do it:
Tortorella is known for being hard on guys, and not being afraid to sit superstars if he has to. Having said that, it's hard to imagine that going over well with guys like Auston Matthews and William Nylander.
Sure, he has a Stanley Cup-winning pedigree, but that was over 20 years ago. It's hard to imagine him taking this Maple Leafs roster and winning with it.
For now, Peter DeBoer is still the safest bet, even if a new report suggests he wants nothing to do with the Toronto Maple Leafs organization.
It's going to be a tough call for the Leafs, and for now, they will just need to figure things out, and try to move forward. Otherwise, a rebuild could be on the horizon.
