At this point, Maple Leafs Head Coach Craig Berube would neither confirm nor deny that Anthony Stolarz has a concussion, and when asked if he'll play in Game Two, the veteran coach offered the same response.
As for the hit on Stolarz from his former teammate Sam Bennett, Berube was very clear in his feelings over the hit, and while some have defended the Panthers star, Berube made it clear that it was a direct elbow to the head.
Berube didn't comment on whether or not this should have been a suspension, but elbows to the head usually result in some form of punishment, and with Stolarz vomiting on the bench and eventually being stretchered out of the arena, it's safe to say that his comments imply that enough.
This entire situation was unfortunate for Stolarz and the Maple Leafs, but what's worse is that the Department of 'Player Safety have failed to step in, and now, Toronto may be without their starting goaltender for the series because of the actions of a repeat offender.
Fortunately for Berube, he held his tongue well and did not call out the league for the situation (as that would have likely resulted in punishment), but we will now wait and see how this is handled moving forward on the ice.
