Craig Berube calls out Auston Matthews & William Nylander after a truly terrible performance

Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube watched his team put up a stinker against the Washington Capitals, and he was quick to call out his leaders.
Auston Matthews and William Nylander are supposed to be two of the best players in the entire National Hockey League. However, they aren't playing like it right now.
On Thursday night against the Washington Capitals, these two were on the same line together, alongside Matthew Knies. Matthews had two shots on goal, Nylander had one, and Knies had none.
It was a horrible display from the first line, and with the Leafs losing by a score of 4-0, it has become crystal clear that this team just does not have the juice this season.
Overall, the Leafs are playing a brand of hockey that is almost impossible to watch, and for most fans, it is extremely difficult to root for this team right now.
Craig Berube goes off on Auston Matthews and William Nylander
As for head coach Craig Berube, he is fed up with what he is seeing. While speaking to the media after last night's game, he was asked whether or not he's seeing enough from the first line.
"No. Not even close," Berube explained. That sentence should tell you everything you need to know.
When asked about why the Capitals are playing better hockey right now, Berube was extremely blunt.
(The Capitals) had way more urgency in their game, more passion in their game. That's the difference.
He was then asked why the Leafs themselves aren't playing with urgency. This led to a pretty devastating response, with Berube saying the players are the problem.
The Leafs now find themselves one point out of last place in the Atlantic Division. It's a horrible place for the team to be, and going forward, they must look inward.
It is not going to get any easier, as the team takes on the Nashville Predators on Saturday, and the Dallas Stars on Sunday.
