Sportsnet insider Elliotte Friedman recently returned to '32 Thoughts' where he revealed what the Toronto Maple Leafs are working on in free agency.
Toronto Maple Leafs fans have been a bit disappointed with the team in free agency so far, as many fans feel as though the team should have done a lot more.
However, the market is pretty thin, and everyone understands just how few talents there are left on the market these days.
Regardless, general manager Brad Treliving is trying, and there is a belief that the Leafs will be able to get something done closer to the end of August.
Elliotte Friedman reveals what's next for the Toronto Maple Leafs
One person who seems to believe this is the case is none other than Elliotte Friedman, who spoke about the Leafs on '32 Thoughts.'
While he can't say for sure what the team has up its sleeve, he does know for a fact that the team is working on something, and teams around the league are expecting something big.
I definitely think the Maple Leafs have their work to do here and I don't know what their timeline is but nobody expects them not to do things before the puck drops that's for sure.
There are reports that the Maple Leafs are looking to trade for a player like Bryan Rust, although there is no guarantee that something like that will go through.
Meanwhile, the Leafs also just signed Nick Robertson, and there are discussions about whether or not he will stick around for the long term.
Needless to say, the Maple Leafs have a lot to think about right now, and the next few weeks are going to be fascinating.
Hopefully, something good happens for the team, and fans are given a reason to be excited about the upcoming season.
