Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Joseph Woll recently had himself a big game against the Calgary Flames, and he used his platform to taunt the Edmonton Oilers.
Tonight is a big one for the Toronto Maple Leafs as they are looking to make it three wins in a row, this time against the Edmonton Oilers.
The Leafs were able to dispatch the Calgary Flames on Monday night, which was a huge victory. Now, they want to keep the momentum going as this will be the last game before the Olympic break.
If you are a Toronto Maple Leafs fan, this game should excite you. The Leafs are playing Connor McDavid and the Oilers, who are very clearly Stanley Cup contenders.
This is going to be a game that the Maple Leafs need to win, and there is no doubt that the fans are waiting with bated breath to see how it goes.
Joseph Woll with some words for the Edmonton Oilers
Unfortunately, Joseph Woll may have just given the Oilers all of the motivation in the world, and it's coming at the worst possible moment for the Leafs.
Essentially, Woll taunted the Oilers over their decision to give up defenseman Troy Stecher for free by way of waivers.
Thank God Edmonton let him go.
At the end of the day, the Oilers could very well use this as locker room material. Perhaps hearing Woll say this will make them want to bury Stecher.
Tonight's game is important for many reasons, but getting the victory against the Oilers is the most pressing issue for the Maple Leafs right now.
Luckily for Woll, it's not his burden. Instead, it rests on the shoulders of Anthony Stolarz.
