Nazem Kadri's latest comments prove he wants to be a Maple Leafs

Calgary Flames forward Nazem Kadri remains a beloved former player for the Toronto Maple Leafs, and it seems like he still very much loves his teammates.
Nazem Kadri is one of those players that Toronto Maple Leafs fans still lament over, all of these years later, and for very good reason.
He is someone who means a lot to the fanbase, and it is a shame that he is no longer a player for the team. He even has a Stanley Cup to his name, which makes it all worse.
Tonight, the Leafs are playing the Calgary Flames, which means they are up against Kadri. What makes this particularly interesting is the fact that Kadri is currently in trade conversations.
So far, the Maple Leafs are not part of those talks, but his latest comments suggest that he would certainly love the Leafs to be in the discussion.

While speaking to reporters today, Kadri admitted that he is still very good friends with guys like Auston Matthews, William Nylander, John Tavares, and Morgan Rielly.
Still great friends, Hang out in the summer. Play some golf. I would like to get the upper hand tonight, for sure.
If you are a Toronto Maple Leafs fan, you can't help but wish all of these guys were back on the same team together, as those were truly the best days.
The Leafs do not appear to be realistic buyers at the trade deadline, which means the Kadri dream is currently dead in the water.
It is a shame, but that just appears to be the reality right now, and it is something that fans are going to have to deal with.
Either way, tonight will be exciting, especially as Kadri tried to defeat his former team.
