Latest Nick Robertson May Have Just Confirmed his Future with the Toronto Maple Leafs

Nick Robertson did not play against the Utah Hockey Club on Monday night as he was replaced by forward Calle Jarnkrok.

Overall, it was a tough decision for head coach Craig Berube but it paid off as Jarnkrok was able to get his first goal of the season.

Since then, fans have been wondering about Robertson and his future with the Maple Leafs who have had a hot and cold relationship with the winger this season.

With the Leafs playing a pivotal game against the Florida Panthers tonight, fans have been very curious about whether or not Robertson would be in the lineup.

Well, we apparently have our answer now as the lineup for tonight's game was reported by Mark Masters.

Essentially, Nick Robertson will, indeed, be a healthy scratch again, even though Craig Berube recently said it was not his fault.

One has to wonder what this is going to mean for Robertson and his future moving forward.

He is out of a contract after this season and based on everything that has happened this year, it seems pretty unlikely that the Maple Leafs choose to re-sign him.

There are plenty of teams out there who could use a guy like him and we doubt this will spell the end of his NHL career. Having said that, the Leafs should also make it clear what their intentions are so we don't get stuck in a loop of uncertainty.
