Leafs GM Brad Treliving has made "a lot" of trade calls over the last week

Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Brad Treliving has a hard job, and according to insider Frank Seravalli, he has been getting to work this past week.
Throughout the first couple of months of the NHL season, the Toronto Maple Leafs have shown some pretty obvious weaknesses.
For instance, the team has had trouble scoring at times, and they could certainly use a first-line right-winger. Moreover, they need a right-handed puck-moving defenseman who isn't going to get injured.
Acquiring these kinds of players is no easy task, and general manager Brad Treliving certainly has his work cut out for him right now.
The trade deadline is coming up in three months from now, and the Maple Leafs have to figure out whether or not they want to be buyers or sellers.
Brad Treliving is looking for the right trade
According to Frank Seravalli, Treliving is certainly getting active right now, and it appears as though he understands just how important this moment is.
"A lot" of calls are being made right now, and the Leafs have put themselves into an interesting position as other teams are also looking to make a deal.
Nashville has some interest in making some moves; Toronto has been making a lot of calls; a whole collection of teams...aren't satisfied...but haven't necessarily found a way to move the ball forward in transactions
For now, it appears as though the priority for the Maple Leafs is to get rid of Matias Maccelli, who is struggling to crack the lineup.
At this juncture, it is unclear what is next for the Maple Leafs as far as trades are concerned, but there is no doubt that something could happen soon.
There is a lot of pressure on Treliving to do something, and he is not in an enviable position, which is something Maple Leafs fans could agree with.
