The Los Angeles Lakers recently defeated the Toronto Raptors, and after the game, LeBron James had a heap of praise for the city and its passionate fans.

Over the years, Toronto has gotten a bad rap in NHL circles. Some feel as though the fanbase is too rabid, while the media is too hyperbolic.
Players like Mitch Marner have left Toronto because it was simply too much for them to handle. Even Toronto natives refuse to come to the city because of the narrative around the Maple Leafs franchise.
However, across other sports, athletes love Toronto with a passion. For instance, Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James believes it is one of the best places to play in the NBA.

LeBron James loves Toronto

After a win against the Toronto Raptors on Thursday night, LeBron heaped tons of praise upon the city and the fans who show up every game.
NHL reporter Scott Wheeler noticed LeBron's comments and mocked NHL players who continue to avoid the franchise like the plague.
Listen to this. Players in the NBA and MLB always talk about Toronto and the fans here like this.

And yet the only NHLers who talk about the Leafs or playing at Scotiabank Arena are local guys who speak in platitudes about family coming to watch.
Comments like this from LeBron James are proof that Toronto is a good place to play, and that you should be proud to be in Toronto.
Perhaps these comments will someday pay dividends for the Maple Leafs, who would love for some high-profile players to join the team.
If one thing is for certain, it is that LeBron is an influential athlete, and his words go a long way. Whether or not that is true with NHL players, remains to be seen.
Either way, it is very cool to see an NBA legend speak so highly of Canada's biggest city.
