Bernie Parent played two seasons with the Toronto Maple Leafs, although the greatest triumphs of his career came with the Philadelphia Flyers.
Some horrible news is being reported in the NHL today as legendary NHL goaltender Bernie Parent has died at the age of 80.
Parent infamous won two Stanley Cups with the Philadelphia Flyers in 1974 and 1975, making him one of Philadelphia's most beloved athletes.
However, he did play two seasons with the Toronto Maple Leafs from 1970-1972. Needless to say, the Maple Leafs certainly regret getting rid of him.
Parent was a legend of the game and one of the best goalies of the 1970s. His passing is one that will be mourned by hockey fans around the world.
Parent won two Vezina trophies and two Conn Smythe trophies during his time in the National Hockey League.
He did this during the period of dominance for Ken Dryden of the Montreal Canadiens. Needless to say, there were only a few who could compete back then.

The Philadelphia Flyers of the 1970s were also known as the Broadstreet Bullies, and for many, they were the most feared team in the NHL at the time.
There was always a good reason for this, as the team was constantly getting into fights. Meanwhile, Parent was out there doing his best to tend the goal and mind his business.
He is the kind of goalie you absolutely loved to have on your team, and he will be forever beloved by the franchise.
