Sheldon Keefe provides update on Nylander's status for game 4
William Nylander has been absent from the first three games of the Maple Leafs first round series against the Boston Bruins, and speculation has been running rampant as to whether or not he would even make an appearance. However, today it was announced that Nylander would make his 20242025 debut this evening, per Chris Johnston and according to Sheldon Keefe.
While Nylander's absence was never explained, it had been thought that Nylander had been dealing with migraines or a concussion, possibly as a result of a hit he took during the last game of the regular season.
With Nylanders return, Keefe and his staff will have to do some juggling to accommodate his return; however, his insertion should invigorate a lineup that has only managed to score six goals during the three games already played.
While Nylander didn't lead the Maple Leafs in points this season, he was the most consistent player over the 82-game regular season, in which he participated fully. The hope would be that he provides more of what the Leafs have been missing the last week.
