The Toronto Maple Leafs are currently dealing with a situation involving Anthony Stolarz, and if it continues to be a problem, a legendary goalie could be the solution.

In case you haven't noticed, Anthony Stolarz has been out for over a month, and there appears to be no end in sight, as the Leafs have no clue when he will be back.
The team has made it clear that Stolarz is seeing a specialist and will know more soon. Meanwhile, the team's goaltending tandem consists of Joseph Woll and Dennis Hildeby.
There are fears that Stolarz could be placed on LTIR, and if that happens, the team will have to take a serious look at Hildeby and determine whether or not he can be the backup for an entire season.
If not, there aren't too many options out there. However, one legendary netminder is looking to make a return, and the Leafs may just want to consider him.

Marc-Andre Fleury wants to come back to the NHL

That goalie is none other than Marc-Andre Fleury. Although the 41-year-old has retired from the NHL, it has been said that the man still very much wants to play. This information came from Frank Seravalli, who added that Fleury wants to play for a winner.
If he's gonna come back, it's gonna be with a team that has an authentic chance to win; I know he wants to play
If Hildeby is not the guy going forward, and the Leafs are really in a bind, Fleury could prove to be their best bet. He would be cheap, and he has a proven track record of winning.

Is Marc-Andre Fleury right for the Leafs?

There are pros and cons to bringing in an older goaltender like Fleury. Last season, he had a record of 14-9-1, a goals-against average of 2.93, and a save percentage of .899.
These numbers aren't amazing, and after half a season away from the game, you would expect him to fall off an even higher cliff. However, as we saw last season with the Minnesota Wild, he can still get you some wins.
Quite frankly, Fleury is a better choice than Cayden Primeau, whom the Leafs had a negative experience with just a few months ago.
If one thing is certain, Leafs general manager Brad Treliving must find solutions for the Stolarz issue, and Fleury could be a lifeline in a desperate situation.
