Toronto Maple Leafs forward Matthew Knies remains one of the best players on the team, and his injury has certainly made things difficult for this roster.
Matthew Knies found himself suffering from a knee injury prior to the Olympics, and it was certainly making things difficult for him.
However, there was this sense that things would eventually get better for Knies. After all, he is one of those guys who knows his body and how to get into shape.
It was even revealed that the forward would be going to a special clinic in Arizona, where he would get the proper treatment for his ailment.
Now, the Maple Leafs are back on the ice, training in preparation for the end of the Olympic break. It's an interesting time, and fans are curious about Knies' condition.
Matthew Knies reveals the truth about his injury
According to Knies himself, things are going just fine. He is happy about his progress, and he believes the time away has gotten him just right.
Yeah, I feel great. I think it's in a great spot. I spent a lot of time on it and it was a pretty valuable two weeks for me just to get the rest and the rehab and everything.
Once the Olympic break is over, the Leafs will be looking to go on a potential playoff run. They are six spots outside of the playoffs, and there are fans who want this team to go for it.
While it is believed that the Leafs are going to be sellers at the trade deadline, it also appears that they want to make the postseason as well.
There is no world in which this team goes for a full-on tank. At the end of the day, that would be a complete disaster, and the fans would not go for it.
Only time will tell whether or not the Maple Leafs and Knies can have themselves an end to the season to remember.
