Mitch Marner Responds After Montreal Fans Give Him an Unexpected Ovation at the 4 Nations Face-Off
Toronto Maple Leafs forward Mitch Marner is not popular in Montreal but the at the 4 Nations Face-Off, there is no doubt that the superstar is being given some grace.
Mitch Marner is one of the best players in the NHL this season and he is one of the major stars on Team Canada at the 4 Nations Face-Off.
In fact, the Leafs star scored the game-winning goal in overtime against Team Sweden on Wednesday night.

Before the game, the players were introduced to the crowd in Montreal, and everyone on Team Canada received a massive ovation.
This was also true of Mitch Marner and Brad Marchand, who typically get showered with boos while playing in Montreal.
Following the game, Marner spoke about the ovation he got and whether or not he ever expected it.
«Probably not. Like I said earlier, especially with the Bruins, they've had some big battles in this building too. But it just shows how much love Canada gets from every fan base. No matter what team you play for in the regular season, they're cheering for Canada.»
It was a great night for Mitch Marner and it feels like he is really on the verge of something great with Team Canada.
Their next game is Saturday against Team USA and it is going to be a truly fun matchup between the two biggest rivals in hockey.
Whether or not Marner can keep the success going as the tournament goes on, still remains to be seen.
If one thing is for sure, it is that this tournament has been a success so far and the first game showed that the teams are taking this seriously.
