Opponent & Date for the Toronto Maple Leafs' Season Opener Has Been Revealed

Toronto Maple Leafs fans are looking forward to a new regular season of NHL hockey, and they will be excited to learn when the team will officially open its season.
This is going to be an interesting upcoming season for the Toronto Maple Leafs, who had to part ways with Mitch Marner at the start of free agency.
The team has yet to fully replace him; however, general manager Brad Treliving is in the midst of at least trying. It won't be an easy task, but some change could be on the horizon.
Having said that, the NHL is gearing up to release its full schedule for the 2025-26 season. Earlier this morning, we got the opening night schedule for October 7th.
Toronto Maple Leafs start the season against the Montreal Canadiens
According to The Hockey News, the Toronto Maple Leafs will officially begin their season one day later on October 8th at the Scotiabank Arena.
The team's season opener also just so happens to be their home opener. According to the report, it was revealed that the Leafs would be playing against the Montreal Canadiens.
This checks out as the Leafs played the Canadiens in their season opener last season, although they lost by a score of 1-0 despite outshooting the Habs by quite a bit.
There is no telling how the Toronto Maple Leafs will do in this opening night game, although fans are waiting to find out the date of another highly anticipated matchup.
The first game between the Las Vegas Golden Knights and the Leafs at Scotiabank Arena is going to be a massive undertaking.
With Mitch Marner coming back to the city, fans will be ready to boo and make their displeasure heard.
Whether or not the return lives up to the hype certainly remains to be seen. The schedule will drop on Wednesday, July 16th.
