Ottawa Mayor Attempts to Interfere with the Toronto Maple Leafs Prior to Game 6
Ottawa Mayor Mark Sutcliffe is a huge fan of the Ottawa Senators and he is doing everything in his power to make sure the Toronto Maple Leafs lose tonight.
If you are a fan of the Ottawa Senators, then tonight is a big night for you as it could potentially be the final home games of the NHL season.
The Toronto Maple Leafs are up 3-2 in the series and will have two opportunities to finish this off. However, with the Sens on a two-game winning streak, there is a lot of anxiety in Leafs Nation.
Meanwhile, Ottawa Mayor Mark Sutcliffe is feeling pretty good these days as his hometown team is on the verge of forcing a Game 7.
Game 6 Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Ottawa Senators
In fact, Mayor Sutcliffe is doing everything he can to potentially give his team an advantage and mess with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Today, the Mayor put out an official letter that essentially gives a medical absence to all Senators fans. Why? Because Mayor Sutcliffe wants all Senators fans cheering on this team tonight.
His belief is that the energy will ultimately propel the Ottawa Senators to a win and potentially a massive upset victory in Game 7.
If the Senators do win the next two games, then the Toronto Maple Leafs will become the biggest laughing stock in the entire NHL.
It would be deserved, but it would also be an embarrassment that very few of these players would ever be able to come back from.
Hopefully, for the mental health of Leafs Nation, Toronto is able to get it done tonight. From there, they can move on to the Florida Panthers.
However, with the way the Panthers are playing, the Leafs might lose that series in short order.
