Ottawa Senators Take Major Shot at the Toronto Maple Leafs with their Playoff Towels
Tonight's Game 3 between the Ottawa Senators and the Toronto Maple Leafs will take place in the Nation's capital and there is already some jarring going on.
The Toronto Maple Leafs have been dominating the Ottawa Senators in the NHL Playoffs so far and there is no doubt that they are the better team.
However, while the Senators have struggled at times in this series, that does not mean that they are out of it just yet. The series is back in Ottawa today and a win would make this a series.
Either way, the Senators need to do everything they can to get the home fans into it. Otherwise, the energy will be off and the Leafs will take control.
Ottawa Senators take a swipe at the Toronto Maple Leafs
Overall, fans in Ottawa are excited as there has not been a postseason game in the city for almost a decade now. Having said that, there is going to be some interesting energy.
Something that the Sens are doing to get fans into it is a towel that they can wave throughout the game. This is standard practice in the sports world.
With these towels, the Senators decided to take a not-so-subtle shot at the Maple Leafs by inscribing the message "Heart over Hype."
Of course, this is supposed to send the message the Senators have more heart than the Leafs and that the Leafs are purely getting credit based on hype.
It is not the best message to send as it doesn't really account for how much heart the Leafs have played with this season in particular.
However, it's hard not to be motivated by something like this. If the Leafs see this it will most certainly become some bulletin board material.
If the Leafs can take a 3-0 series lead tonight, then it is safe to say that this series is all but over.
