Sport Chek Called Out After Disrespectful Act Against the Toronto Maple Leafs
Sport Chek is currently being accosted on social media after an act involving Brad Marchand that could be seen as disrespect towards the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Tonight, the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Florida Panthers will play in Game 1 of the second round and it is going to be a very interesting series.
Overall, the Panthers are coming in as the favorites, despite losing the Atlantic Division to the Leafs. Meanwhile, the Leafs are trying to exercise playoff demons.
Game 1 is set to take place at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto and it will start at 8 PM EST. However, the Sport Chek next to the arena is now being dragged into a controversy surrounding the jerseys it's selling.
Sport Chek selling Brad Marchand jerseys
As LeafsLatest pointed out on X, the massive Sport Chek near the Scotiabank Arena is proudly displaying a group of Brad Marchand Florida Panthers jerseys.
Understandably, some fans are uncomfortable with this given the fact that the Leafs are about to embark on a tough series against that very team.
Going to be honest here I, for one, am NOT a fan of the Brad Marchand jerseys hanging inside the Sport Chek next to SBA one day before game 1 of the biggest playoff series the Leafs have played in years.
Clearly, Sport Chek is selling these jerseys because they understand good and well that Florida fans will be in Toronto and might want a souvenir.
For now, however, Maple Leafs fans are on edge and it is easy to see why. There is a lot riding on tonight's game.
Hopefully, the Maple Leafs are able to meet the moment and show fans that they really do have what it takes to win a Stanley Cup.
No matter what, it does feel like this is going to be a long series, and we cannot wait to watch it all go down.
