The date of Henry Thrun's first game with the Toronto Maple Leafs has been announced

With the Toronto Maple Leafs losing Dakota Mermis, it would appear as though the team is looking to finally give an opportunity to Henry Thrun.
The Toronto Maple Leafs have dealt with a ton of defensive injuries this season, including Brandon Carlo and Chris Tanev.
On Monday night, the team also lost Dakota Mermis, and it appears as though the defenseman is going to have to miss a month of action.
Earlier today, the Maple Leafs called up defenseman Henry Thrun from the Toronto Marlies, and there was lots of fanfare around the decision.
Henry Thrun is about to get his chance with the Toronto Maple Leafs
According to head coach Craig Berube, it is very likely that we will see Thrun get his first start with the Maple Leafs on Thursday night.
Funny enough, the Leafs are playing against the San Jose Sharks, which just so happens to be Thrun's former team, offering a chance at revenge.
At practice on Wednesday, Thrun found himself on a defensive pairing with Simon Benoit, all while Morgan Rielly was out with an illness.
Rielly is expected to eventually make his way to the lineup on Thursday, and we imagine it will be Philippe Myers being sidelined.

Whatever the case may be, the excitement surrounding Thrun is palpable right now, and we are excited to see what he does.
He is a promising player, and he may very well give this Leafs team a huge boost.
