Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Joseph Woll is looking to return from an injury, and with the Leafs playing the San Jose Sharks on Thursday, hopes are being kept alive.

Last Thursday against the Carolina Hurricanes, Joseph Woll suffered a lower-body injury, and it immediately sent fans into a tailspin as it was yet another injury to a starting goaltender.
With Anthony Stolarz out of the lineup, it felt like Woll's injury was that much worse. However, it was quickly revealed that the netminder would miss a week, at most.
Meanwhile, in Woll's absence, Dennis Hildeby has been sensational. As for the current backup goalie, the Leafs have called up Artur Akhtyamov.

Joseph Woll returns to Maple Leafs practice

Today, the Maple Leafs were on the ice for practice as they prepare to take on the San Jose Sharks on Thursday night. Prior to this practice, the Leafs got some good news.
As you can see in the footage below, Joseph Woll was getting some work in with the team's goaltending coach. This is certainly nice to see, as it shows that Woll is progressing.
Berube did say that Woll would be out a week, and Thursday night just so happens to be the one-week anniversary of his injury.

When is Joseph Woll coming back?

With all of this in mind, Maple Leafs fans want to know when Joseph Woll is going to return to the lineup and if he will be doing so in the near future.
A return on Thursday night against the San Jose Sharks would be extremely ambitious, especially when you consider how the goalie left before the real practice started.
The Maple Leafs play the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday, and the Chicago Blackhawks the following Tuesday. It is more realistic for Woll to return in one of those two matches.
However, with Dennis Hildeby playing the way he has, there is no denying that the Leafs should be fine, regardless of who is between the pipes.
