The Maple Leafs make it official for Joseph Woll

Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Joseph Woll has been solid this season, and with a game against the New Jersey Devils going down tonight, the netminder got some news.
Joseph Woll is in a difficult position right now. His tandem partner from last season, Anthony Stolarz, is injured and isn't expected back anytime soon.
Meanwhile, Dennis Hildeby is still a work in progress. As a result, Woll is going to have to carry the workload and will his team into a playoff spot.
In 12 appearances, the netminder has a goals-against average of 2.73 and a save percentage of .915, which is good, but needs a bit of work.
Tonight, the Maple Leafs are playing the New Jersey Devils, and there has been a question surrounding whether or not Woll or Hildeby would get the start.
Is Joseph Woll starting against the Devils?
At morning skate, it was confirmed that Woll will be the one to get the call tonight against the Devils, which makes the most amount of sense.
The Leafs need a win, and with injuries plaguing the team right now, it would probably make sense to give this team the best chance to win.
With the Leafs being in last place in the Atlantic Division, it has become clear that wins are a necessity right now, and anything less should be classified as a failure.
Thankfully, there is still some hope left for the Leafs right now. They are five points out of a playoff spot, and aren't even halfway through the season.
There is still time to rack up some wins and fully catch up. It's not going to be easy, but there is certainly an opportunity here for the Maple Leafs.
With that in mind, Joseph Woll is going to have to put up a solid performance and show himself to be a true NHL starting netminder. Otherwise, this Leafs season could end up being a mega failure.
