The trade activity is going to heat up in around ten days when the Olympics conclude, and the Toronto Maple Leafs have an ace up their sleeve in Bobby McMann heading into the NHL Trade Deadline.

McMann is the only forward available with over 20 goals and has low salary cap hit compared to the league's average.

Bobby McMann will be a hot commodity at the deadline.

NHL Rumour Reported posted on X the interesting opportunity the Leafs have in McMann, with his cap hit and production the Leafs can have some high demands for the return in exchange for McMann.
Chris Johnston: Re Bobby McMann: There won’t be another 20-plus goal man available at this deadline who commands a cap hit below the league’s average; the Leafs can get him there with full retention. There’s going to be a premium charged for doing that - The Athletic (2/11)
There are many teams in search of depth scoring. The Colorado Avalanche might be one of the top contenders to land McMann, due to his low cap hit. The Avalanche do not have a lot of room to work with, if they give enough to the Leafs they can get McMann and have his salary retained a little as well.
The Carolina Hurricanes are also in that boat, the Hurricanes in past playoffs have always struggled to score, despite dominating possession and shots on goal. Adding another scoring threat in McMann could be the missing piece for them to reach the top of the mountain.
Lastly the Minnesota Wild might not be done gearing up for the playoffs. After shaking the league up in getting Quinn Hughes, they have surpassed the Dallas Stars for second in the Central Division. But they still lack some extra scoring after their big guns in Matt Boldy and Kirill Kaprizov. McMann might be what they need in order to get through the gruelling Central Division playoff gauntlet.
The phone will be ringing nonstop for McMann before the deadline, and the Leafs need to capitalize on other teams' desperation.
