Toronto Maple Leafs deliver miraculous announcement involving Chris Tanev

Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Chris Tanev has missed significant time with a concussion, and today, the team got a huge update on their veteran defenseman.
Chris Tanev has dealt with some bad concussions this season, and it has been a long road for him to get back to the Toronto Maple Leafs.
A couple of weeks ago, it felt like Tanev could be subjected to surgery on his neck. Thankfully, it doesn't appear as though that will be necessary.
Instead, the defenseman has mostly spent his time at Leafs practice, wearing a non-contact jersey and attempting to get back into the swing of things.
Today, Tanev participated in practice with a regular jersey on, and there was an announcement afterward that should excite fans.
Chris Tanev gets positive update from the Maple Leafs
According to Luke Fox of Sportsnet, Tanev will not be playing on Tuesday night against the Chicago Blackhawks, although there are reasons to be excited.
It seems as though Tanev could be back in the lineup as soon as Christmas, which is an incredible development for this Maple Leafs team.
The Leafs have had all sorts of injuries plague their defense, and Tanev has been a huge piece of the puzzle that has been missing.
Once they get the defenseman back, there is a world in which the Leafs start performing up to their expectations. Yes, he's that good.
Of course, the Leafs fanbase should not get ahead of itself just yet. Tanev needs to continue to get better every single day.
One setback and he could find himself regressing by a few weeks. Only time will tell how this all plays out.
