The Toronto Maple Leafs dealt with an illness over the weekend as Dakota Joshua and William Nylander were in a bad spot, and now, another forward is impacted.

On Saturday, Dakota Joshua and William Nylander skipped morning skate hours before a game against the Edmonton Oilers. It was revealed that both players were dealing with an illness.
Later that night, Nylander suited up against the Oilers, while Joshua was deemed to be in no condition to play. It was a bad situation, and Nylander was suffering during the game.
Every single year, it feels as though an illness makes its way through the locker room. Now, they are going through it all over again.
According to David Alter of The Hockey News, Matias Maccelli is skipping practice this morning, as he deals with a similar illness.
The exact nature of the illness has not been disclosed, but we can imagine it is related to whatever Nylander and Joshua have been going through lately.
It's a bad situation for the Maple Leafs, who cannot afford to have any more players go through something similar, especially when you consider their lack of success on the ice.

A Difficult season for Matias Maccelli

Things are going from bad to worse for Matias Maccelli right now, as he has not played a game since November 28th, and continues to be overlooked.
With this illness, it seems as though Maccelli will be on the outside looking in all over again, which is disappointing for the forward.
He has been trying to crack the lineup, but head coach Craig Berube just doesn't seem all that interested in giving the kid a chance.
It's a tough situation to be in, and we will get a better sense of Maccelli's future as the New Year creeps up in just a couple of weeks.
