Toronto Maple Leafs get the worst news possible concerning Nazem Kadri

Calgary Flames center Nazem Kadri is available at the NHL Trade Deadline, although it seems as though a rival team is the likeliest franchise to get him.
Nazem Kadri is a beloved former player for the Toronto Maple Leafs, and fans have been begging for him to be traded back to the Leafs.
While the Leafs have expressed interest, it remains clear that they are in no position to add anyone significant at the trade deadline.
This is a year for selling and not buying. It is a harsh reality, albeit one that the Leafs are becoming accustomed to right now.
Unfortunately, this comes at a time when Kadri is, in fact, someone who is on the trading block. To make matters worse, bitter rivals are in on Kadri.
Montreal Canadiens in on Nazem Kadri
For instance, a new report from Chris Johnston confirms that the Montreal Canadiens would love to make a move for Kadri.
In fact, it is believed that Kadri is open to going to the Canadiens. The forward has a 13-team no trade list, and the Habs are not on it.
Kadri is a competitor who would immediately raise the ceiling in Montreal. While there’s legitimate concern around how well his contract will age, with another three seasons remaining after this one, the fact he would be in favor of a move to the Habs, according to league sources, should bring a measure of comfort. Kadri has a 13-team no-trade list, and Montreal isn’t on it.
For the Maple Leafs, this is just a harsh reality that they are going to have to get over. If they were better this season, perhaps Kadri would be in play.
At this point, the Leafs just have to wait and see. Of course, the Olympics are getting in the way of this team's ability to make any decisions.
Instead, the team is just going to have to wait for the Olympic athletes to return. For Brad Treliving, this will be a time of high anxiety.
