Toronto Maple Leafs learn what it would take to acquire Artemi Panarin

New York Rangers forward Artemi Panarin is seemingly on the trading block right now, and the Toronto Maple Leafs could certainly make a push.
The Toronto Maple Leafs would love a player like Artemi Panarin right about now, especially with their offensive woes.
Panarin is currently on the market, and the New York Rangers appear fairly keen on moving him sooner rather than later.
With that in mind, Panarin is going to come with a price, and that price is not going to be very cheap.
If the Maple Leafs are interested in acquiring the forward, general manager Brad Treliving is going to have to pony up some big time assets.
What would it cost to acquire Artemi Panarin?
According to reports, the price for Panarin is very simple. A first round pick, a top prospect, and an extra asset for good measure.
Can the Maple Leafs afford that? Probably not. However, perhaps Treliving gets creative anyway in a bid to save the season.
Whether or not the Leafs end up making this move depends on if Treliving is feeling bold enough to do something that can change the team's fortunes.
At the end of the day, this is a move that is not going to be easy to make. There are a lot of teams that would go after Panarin, and Toronto would not be his first choice.
But with the trade deadline on the horizon, this is something that the Maple Leafs need to consider if they have any shot at competing.
Treliving has to make a bold move, especially with the Leafs completely slipping away in the Wild Card race.
