Toronto Maple Leafs reportedly kicking tires on blockbuster deal for Steven Stamkos

Steven Stamkos doesn't appear to be happy with the Nashville Predators, and this has some fans believing that he could be on his way to the Toronto Maple Leafs.
The Toronto Maple Leafs would love to improve their team right now, especially after losing four straight games and falling down the Atlantic Division pecking order.
However, it is not going to be easy for this team to acquire anyone. They don't have a ton of assets, and teams love to play hardball with general manager Brad Treliving.
With that in mind, there are some players available right now, including Nashville Predators superstar Steven Stamkos.
Will Steven Stamkos be traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs?
According to Cam Robinson of Elite Prospects, Steven Stamkos is one of the many players that the Toronto Maple Leafs have been kicking tires on.

For now, it remains to be seen whether or not the Leafs will be able to make a move for Stamkos. However, he fits the profile of what the Leafs want and need from their wing.

If you are a Toronto Maple Leafs fan, you can't help but be extremely skeptical when you hear about things like this. At the end of the day, it sounds too good to be true.
However, that doesn't necessarily have to be the case. There is a world in which this is true, and the Leafs get themselves a true stud.
Fans will simply have to sit back and wait for more information. That said, it is clear that Treliving is looking to be ambitious going forward.
