Anthony Stolarz is coming off a career year with the Toronto Maple Leafs, where he had a goals-against average of 2.14 and a save percentage of .926.
The goaltender is going into the final season of his two-year deal, which means the Leafs can officially sign the netminder to a contract extension.
According to reports, both sides have entered contract negotiations, although nothing has materialized. After all, there is no telling how he plays this season.
James Mirtle reveals Anthony Stolarz's mindset
Recently, James Mirtle spoke to JD Bunkis about the Stolarz situation and what the Maple Leafs should expect from negotiations.
Ultimately, Mirtle says the Leafs should expect to spend a lot of money. After all, the goaltender is very good, and with the salary cap rising, he could demand significant term.

Four years and $5 million per season seems to be the number being thrown around right now.
The only hiccup here is Dennis Hildeby, who has a clause on his next deal stipulating that he must be on the Leafs in three seasons from now.
With Joseph Woll also on the roster, one has to wonder if the Maple Leafs would consider keeping Stolarz for the long haul.
