The Toronto Maple Leafs took on the Ottawa Senators at the Rookie Tournament today, although the Bell Center turnout left a lot to be desired.
If you are a big fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs, you were probably paying attention to the city of Montreal today, as that is where the Rookie Tournament is taking place.
Just a few hours ago, the Toronto Maple Leafs took on the Ottawa Senators at the Bell Centre and ended up losing by a score of 4-3.
There were some solid performances throughout the evening, but for the most part, the Toronto Maple Leafs' talent pool showed a lot of weakness.
Toronto Maple Leafs lose to the Ottawa Senators
Unfortunately, when it comes to the fans in Montreal, they didn't exactly create a welcoming environment for the young guns of the Senators or Leafs.
As you will see below, the Bell Centre was practically empty as the young stars took to the ice. Sure, the Canadiens weren't playing, but hockey is hockey.
Montreal is passionate about hockey, but doesn't care much about Toronto taking on Ottawa. 20 minutes to puck drop and the building is empty
If you are a Toronto Maple Leafs fan, perhaps tomorrow's game will be more compelling as the Montreal Canadiens are set to play.
In fact, it is not a stretch to believe that more fans will attend tomorrow since the Canadiens will actually be in action.
Ultimately, the Rookie Tournament is not the biggest draw, with preseason and the regular season coming up extremely soon.
We just hope that we get some good hockey from the Leafs' young guns tomorrow, who will have a bit of pressure on them.
